Bio

Mark Tucker has served as Surry's Athletic Director since 2005.  While serving as Athletic Director, Surry has captured Region 10 titles in each of its athletic programs.  Tucker has served as Region 10 chairman for both baseball and golf.  Tucker currently serves as the Region 10 Assistant Men's Director along with being the chairman of the NJCAA Division III Baseball committee.  

Prior to serving as athletic director, Tucker started the Surry baseball program in 1995.  During his 13 seasons as head coach, Surry captured six Region 10 championships including finishing 5th in the 1998 NJCAA Division III Baseball World Series.  Tucker complied an overall record of 486-164 (.748) including a 55-9 campaign in 2004 team that had the Knights ranked 4th in the NJCAA Division I baseball national poll.  During Tucker’s tenure, Surry signed or produced over 20 players that played professional baseball. 

Tucker serves on the Surry County Recreation Advisory committee along with being a member of the Armfield Civic Center board.  Currently, he is the President of the Knights Athletic Club.  

Tucker graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University where he earned South Athletic Conference All-Conference honors in baseball.  He earned a Master of Arts from Appalachian State University while serving as a graduate assistant baseball coach under Jim Morris.  

Tucker resides in Pilot Mountain with his wife, Wendy and their two daughters.
